A pause does not need to solve your whole day. It can simply be a moment to notice where you are and choose what comes next.

Start outside yourself

If comfortable, keep your eyes open and notice an ordinary detail in the room. Leave the practice at that if you prefer. An external focus is an option when attention inside your body feels uncomfortable.

Make the next step small

You might get water, put one task aside or ask for practical help. Choose what is possible in your circumstances. A pause is an invitation, not another obligation.

Keep human support in the picture

Everyday self-care is not a replacement for qualified support. If distress persists, worsens or affects daily life, consider a qualified health professional. Stop any exercise that does not feel useful.
